Neudorf Vineyards (Upper Moutere)

It's been more than 30 years since I first visited the cellar door at Neudorf Vineyards. The first block was planted in 1978 by Tim and Judy Finn. With the recent passing of Tim in our minds we went to spend an afternoon in the lovingly created space he and Judy have curated for so many years.

Neudorf wines have won many, many awards over the years for a very good reason. They're simply excellent! This time we sampled an Albarīno and Chardonnay. We enjoyed ourselves quietly drinking our wine while looking at the lush green of the spring in evidence on the vines and taking in the lovely vista from our seats to the hills in the distance.

Judy and her daughter Rosie were on deck to welcome guests and provide recommendations.

This is a truly beautiful spot and we have many happy memories of concerts here in summer (including our favourite Don McGlashan).

(It was great to see TVNZ's Seven Sharp broadcasting from Neudorf Vineyards in November!)
