If you're looking for a coffee place to call your new 'local' then look no further than Toi Toi Coffee House.
We have certainly embraced it as our favourite and proudly tell anyone we can that owner Tania Raw is serving the best coffee in Nelson.
Tania is an experienced hospitality professional and it shows in her attention to detail. She's created a warm and welcoming space with a basket of toys for young patrons (she's a Mum herself), a very comfy sofa, a wee table for two, outdoor seating if you're visiting with a dog (there's a free dog treat in a jar on the counter if you do), and a comfortable bench seat for a bigger group or to share with a digital nomad who's getting a steady stream of coffees delivered to their elbow while they work.
Tania sources locally where possible, coffee from Sublime, Oaklands milk, baked goods from a supplier in Richmond, and cold drinks courtesy of Pete's Natural.
But it's the way she makes her coffees that's the standout. Perfect temperature, no bitter aftertaste, beautifully presented, and at a price that won't make you wince.
Tania's also started making toasties on site, and during a recent visit another customer told her she should take out the best toastie in NZ competition.
This will be Toi Toi Coffee House's first summer trading, and Tania is taking on her first team member in anticipation. We wish this hardworking business owner all the very best. She's created a community hub here based on her kind welcome, sincere care for her customers, excellent coffee, and ability to create a space that's genuinely nice to be in.
